New Jersey has 23 lighthouses along the Atlantic coast, and nine of them are open to visit. The best known are Sandy Hook Lighthouse, Robbins Reef Lighthouse and Absecon Lighthouse. The oldest is Sandy Hook Lighthouse, first lit in 1764. Absecon Lighthouse is the tallest at 171 feet. You can climb the tower at four of them.
